With a name that is basically self-explanatory, wine country is a beautiful region in California that has numerous vineyards and wineries. There's more to do in the Wine Country than merely taste wine. Spa services including mineral water soaks, mud baths, and massage are rejuvenating local traditions. Calistoga is famous for its warm spring water-fed mineral tubs and mud baths full of volcanic ash. Sonoma, St. Helena, and other towns also have full-service spas.
It could be that bicycle touring, with or without wine tasting along the way for a day or a week is more what you had in mind. A wild animal safari might be an appropriate diversion, or, if you time it right, tickets to a San Francisco 49ers game at Pac Bell Park could fit into the schedule. And speaking of San Francisco, tours of The City, hotel accommodations in San Francisco or just a pick-up from your hotel in San Francisco or at the airport on the way to your winery tour can be easily incorporated. In Napa Valley, golf is also a popular leisure activity and is home to some of the most gorgeous courses in the state.
Among other diversions, you can dine at gorgeous restaurants, take a balloon ride over the vineyards or take a bike tour through them. The options are almost unlimited -- from an afternoon winery tour by limo for two, to a complete package of accommodations, winery tours, gourmet lunches and dinners and team building events or company picnics for groups of almost any size.
